Bought the black pups
recently and threw em
into an epi dot. not
only do the make your
guitar look at least 5
times cooler, the sound
is unparalleled.
I
was suprised when I got
my first eyeful of these
things. I mean, only an
1/8th inch of metal. no
widening. no poles. and
two magnets. I was
speechless. the only
thing I could squeeze
out was holy frick. look
at that! I hope they
work.
Low and behold, they
worked. perfectly. and
amazingly. clarity,
depth and tone.
something missing from
most (all) stock
pickups. I could hear my
low notes, my high notes
and everything in
between. such clarity
without compromising
that good feeling of a
passive pickup with some
soul.
everything you want to
come through comes
through, harmonics,
pinch harmonics,
squeals, thrills and
shrills.
it
is the perfect pickup.
the best sound.
I'm not a guitar tech
either. but I do have
some basic experience.
so with a little common
sense I got em fixed up
the first time. so it's
not like you need an
electricians degree.
again, the clarity is so
outstanding, you can
hear every mistake you
make. definitely
inspires you to play
better.
Get these. I promise you
will love them.

Lace Alumitones are the
most versatile pickups
I've ever heard in 35
years of playing.
Not only that, but they
have a complex, fat but
clear sound is so pure,
so warm but has so much
clarity, that I never
thought one pickup could
possess.
Whether you play rock,
fingerstyle, country,
jazz, gritty blues,
searing slide, or R&B,
these pickups will not
only cover the necessary
tones, but excel at
them.
They're incredible loud,
but don't drive your amp
like a distortion
pickup. They're clear
and you can hear each
and every note in a
chord, but they're also
full and fat.
These are great for
classic rock, and have
an incredible amount of
sustain.
Moreover, they have such
a full frequency range
that by running them
into a PA or acoustic
amp, you can actually
get a sound not far from
a good
electric-acoustic!
With an A/B box, you can
get hybrid guitar
sounds, without that
ugly piezo crackle,
without 2 pickup systems
and batteries!
It's a truly
revolutionary pickup,
and simply sounds better
than anything I've tried
before, (Gibson vintage
and new, Lollar, Fralin,
Timbuckers, WCR, etc...)
For the price, they're a
bargain: the sound
quality is worth twice
as much.
After hearing these,
several producers I work
with ordered sets for
their "in-house"
guitars.
They make a perfect
studio guitar because
they can emulate just
about any classic tone,
or you can unleash their
full potential for a
unique, full-range sound
unlike anything else.
A
terrific pickup, and a
must-have for the
serious guitarist.

I had these put in a
baritone guitar to
replace the crappy stock
pickups it came with.
The result was dramatic.
1.
No noise on any
distortion setting,
NONE, ZILCH. I am not
exaggerating. I could
put the pickups right up
to the LED or LCD screen
on the highest gain
settings and not hear a
trace of hum.
2.
Full-Spectrum sound. I
had to back-off the lows
and mids a bit from my
previous settings
because the pickups
enhanced them so much
there was no need for
the extra boost. I left
the top level the same,
and notice that the
character of the high
end was much smoother
and less harsh whilst
keep a great attack with
the pick.
Bottom Line: I have
played many active and
passive pickups from EMG
to Seymour Duncan, from
Ceramic to Alnicos. And
while those companies
produce very solid and
great-sounding products,
the Lace Alumitones are
in a class all their
own. I can't think of a
better way to add to the
spectrum of your sound
and get rid of noise in
your current setup....
and they look cool too.
